This is how the Bauhaus teacher Johannes Itten describes the sensual meaning of colors as a method of design. This sentence is representative for the timeless philosophy as it was shaped by the Bauhaus from 1919 to 1933: Design for life – for use.

Like all BOTTA watches, the TRES colores embodies the Bauhaus philosophy. Its design concentrates on the essentials: time. With its straight-line dial and geometrically clear case, it is a modern interpretation of the Bauhaus ideals, instead of merely copying the aesthetics of the time. Its hands in the Bauhaus colours red, blue and yellow rotate almost playfully over the deep black dial. Its embossed numerals create an attractive play of light when being exposed to light.
