UNO plus Automatic Alpin
44 mm // stainless steel // Automatic890,00 €
The UNO titan one-hand watch is the new, smaller 40 mm version from the UNO series featuring a titanium case and high-quality Swiss-made quartz movement. Its one-hand display principle is still exactly the same as that used in the original UNO invented by Klaus Botta in 1986, however.
The typical UNO dial takes up almost the entire visible watch face. The precise resolution of the scale, which has been extended right out to the edge of the dial, achieves a surprisingly high degree of readability. A clear explanation of the one-hand watchprinciple can be found here.
"It seems that perfection is attained not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing more to remove.” The UNO titan model is the perfect application of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s aphorism in practice. With a diameter of 40 mm, it is the smaller and considerably lighter titanium version of the UNO plus.
Thanks to the amazing flatness of the watch (with a visible case height of 2.9 mm), its volume has been reduced by a considerable 30 percent. Weighing just 32 grams in all, the anti-allergenic titanium version is unbelievably light and not much heavier than a standard letter.
The strap lugs are concealed beneath the case to save space. Despite its generous diameter of 40 mm, the UNO Titan can therefore also be worn on very slim wrists. The sloped sides of the underside of the case allow the wrist much more freedom of movement, while at the same time enabling the air to circulate better.
The dual-domed sapphire glass rounds off the elegant lines of this watch. Anti-reflective coating on both sides gives a much clearer view and adds a refined bluish shimmer to the significantly reduced glass reflections.
The UNO titan one-hand watch from Botta-Design is driven by a Swiss-made Ronda quartz movement. Unlike the much cheaper “Swiss-parts” movements, the components in this movement are manufactured and assembled entirely in Switzerland.
The original Ronda movement ensures that the UNO will run smoothly and precisely for many years, which reflects the Botta principle of technical and design durability in its German-made watches.
