Impulse 1: Notice Time - Take your time

Why We Often Overlook Our Time

In our stimulus-saturated world, the way we deal with time often resembles flying blind. We function, react, rush from one appointment to the next—without truly noticing how we spend our lifetime. The first step toward a more confident way of handling time is surprisingly simple: look closely and become consciously aware. Because only what you recognize can you also shape.

When is your time truly “your” time?

Perhaps you know the feeling: an inspiring conversation, a walk at sunset, a moment of stillness—suddenly time seems to stand still and take on meaning. Such moments give us the sense of truly living. In contrast, there are days that feel as if they simply pass us by: from meeting to meeting, from task to task, never really present, always already on to the next step.

Notice Time means: become attentive to these differences. Consciously perceive when you are the master of your time—and when control slips away from you. Only then can you discover what you really need to move through the day with clarity and awareness.

The sundial as a model

The most original form of timekeeping—the sundial—can serve today as a metaphor. It shows the time only when the sun is shining and reminds us that time is not linear and mechanical, but follows a natural cycle.

This is precisely the philosophy embodied by our UNO 24. It shows you the entire day at a glance, with a clear indication of your “time position” in the course of the day. It reduces complexity and reminds you to pause. It is your daily impulse not merely to measure time, but to live it actively.

Time is life—and life needs awareness

“Your time is your life”—this thought may seem banal at first, but in its consequences it is revolutionary. Every person has exactly 24 hours a day. How you use them determines the quality of your life.

The conscious perception of your time is therefore nothing less than the conscious perception of your life. It is the first step on the path to greater self-determination and clarity.

Reflection question:
“When is your time self-determined, and when is it determined by others?”

Take a moment—and take the first step toward greater clarity and true sovereignty over your time.

The Your Time Principle supports you with the following impulses and will help you become more aware of how you handle your time. It will contribute to shaping it more actively and positively.

This is the first of 28 time impulses in our Your Time Principle - a journey toward a more mindful relationship with your personal time. In the coming weeks, we will guide you step by step toward greater sovereignty over your time and quality of life.

This time impulse is part of our Your Time principle—a philosophy that helps you develop a new awareness of your personal time and manage it more confidently. Discover all 28 time impulses and change your view of time.

Ist Zeit relativ? Einstein sagt “Ja”.
